Dear Comrades;
The Party
has been very active recently, working against the government's war in
Iraq and war on civil liberties at home.
We marched against the
IMF/World Bank on April 24th. and in the March for Women's Lives
on April 25th in DC.
A new tool for this
activism will be The
Socialist. Katherine Nicewander is the new Editor,. The May Day
issue is available on -line and from the National Office.
Membership in the Party is
increasing, these new members are demanding more literature, and
support for their local actions. In order for the Party to keep up with
the demands of the ever growing anti-capitalist movement, it needs
funds. Accordingly we have started an effort to raise funds. We have
two ways members can contribute.
First, we have started a
pledge drive. Members make a monthly
pledge of anywhere between $20-100 dollars a month. Members dues
can be part of your pledge if you wish, as long as you keep up your
pledge, and as long as you pledge is 25 percent above your dues level.
If you send the
National Office a blank check, the amount is automatically deducted
from your checking account -- no worries about writing checks! Email reminders are also available.
Second, we've had a n on-going fund-drive. You
can give through PayPal, or mail in a check or money order.
As we enter
this period of increased anti-capitalist activity, more and more people
are looking at and joining the Socialist Party. Please help make this
time a successful one by giving generously today.
