[Spusa-announce] 59th Anniversary of th Universal Declaration of Human Rights

December 10, 2007 will be the 59th Anniversary of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and Socialist Party encourages local and state
organizations to host, sponsor and/or take part in actions supporting the
Declaration's call for: ".. the right to a standard of living adequate for
the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food,
clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the
right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability,
widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his
control." and also that "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel,
inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment" and "...the right to form
and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests."

On December 10th we should be in the streets and at union halls and
community centers supporting workers rights, immigrant rights and the
right to have our basic needs met.

If your local or state organization is endorsing or sponsoring an action
on the 10th please give us a a heads up so we can list it on the national
website.
